Bevel Nominal Data translate to 3d CAD

Version 04.25.2016

This program reads nominal data file and generates 3d tooth surface. Nominal data tooth topology file is generated by Gleason GEMS software and Klingelnberg KIMoS software. For example, you can order gear machine summary calculation from Gleason or from Klingelnberg and use this program in order to generate 3d CAD models of the exactly the same gear tooth flanks. Machine the gears on a CNC instead of a gear generating machine using 3d CAD file. This method is good for finished machining or for rough machining. Use surface offset for rough machining.

Nominal data file is used for input.

Output is 3d CAD model

Good option to reverse engineer Gleason and Klingelnberg bevel gears.

Additional use of this program

Verify tooth contact on spiral bevel gears that are cut using Gleason or Klingelnberg summary. Gleason and Klingelnberg summary calculation software generates tooth contact pattern. This program provides a second opinion how the tooth contact may look like after machining. The reverse engineered Gleason/Klingelnberg gear data go into TCA program for more detailed contact pattern examination. The resulting output includes higher resolution of the tooth contact and 3d models for an alternative CNC tooth cutting. Since 2010 this service has improved tooth contact on each bevel set that was examined. The most positive results have been delivered to the gear sets that originally had issues with endurance.
